About Pereira

It is the capital of the department of Risaralda and lies in the valley of the Otun River, in the Central Cordillera of the Colombian Andes. Pereira is at the center of the "Golden Triangle", which is formed by Bogota, Medellin and Cali. It is also one of the cities that make up the Colombian Coffee Triangle, more than 70 thousand hectares of vegetation that are home to the main coffee producing farms in the country. It is known as "Paisaje Cultural Cafetero Patrimonio de la Humanidad" (Coffee Cultural Landscape World Heritage Site) as it was declared World Heritage Site by Unesco in 2011.

About the airport

Matecaña International Airport, also known as Pereira International Airport, is located 5km west of the city center. It has stores, restaurants, cafes, Wi-Fi access and a Duty Free area. In addition, passengers can access the airport by car or public transportation. 

What to do Pereira?

Pereira has a tropical savanna climate, which means that no seasons stand out, it only has dry temperatures and rains throughout the year. Its average temperature is between 13ºC and 26ºC. Pereira is a lively city all year round, but the first months of the year are the most attractive for tourists as the festivities around the Coffee Triangle begin.
