About Tucuman
San Miguel de Tucuman is the capital of the province of Tucuman, located in the northwest of the Argentine Republic, 1311 km from the city of Buenos Aires. It is known as "The Garden of the Republic" and is the sixth largest city of Argentina, after Buenos Aires, Cordoba, Rosario, La Plata, and Mar del Plata, in addition to being the most important of the region of the Argentine Great North. The historical importance of this city is mainly because it was here where the Declaration of Independence of Argentina took place, on July 9, 1816. It is located very close to the right bank of the Sali River, also called the Dulce River.

Tucuman Benjamen Matienzo International Airport is located in the town of Cevil Pozo, community of Delfin Gallo, 9 km east of downtown San Miguel de Tucuman in Argentina. This airport has daily flights to and from Jorge Newbery Airport and the cities of Rosario and Mendoza. This airport is very important nationally as a cargo airport. It has flights to Miami, Lima and Santiago de Chile transporting the production of blueberries and other fine fruits, as well as other export products. The airport used to have weekly passenger flights to Montevideo.

The climate in Tucuman is described as subtropical with a wet season from October to March and a dry season in winter. San Miguel de Tucuman has pleasant temperatures all year round, with very hot summers, warm days and cold nights in autumn, cool winters and warm springs. Spring is the best time to visit Tucuman. September is a very good month to visit because the rains of the humid season have not started yet and the surrounding landscapes look green, ideal for ecotourism and adventure sports.
